02/23 ~ In the early afternoon the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and West Metro Fire Rescue were called to 9201 West Columbine Drive for a reported shooting.  JCSO arrived at Deer Creek Middle School to find staff members detaining an adult male with a gun.  Initially it was unknown how many victims were shot, prompting WMFR to order several air medical choppers and medic units to the scene.  A total of two teenage patients were treated and quickly transported by West Metro Paramedics.  JCSO, CSP the FBI as well as other agencies remained on scene throught the night investigating the incident.  Rod Blakney Photos
