01/19 ~ Around 11:50 Arvada Firefighters were alerted to a reported Structure Fire in the 7400 block of Upham Street. Once enroute, units reported a column of heavy black smoke in the air. First due Truck 4 sized up a one story single family dwelling with smoke showing from the windows. Truck 4 split their crew to conduct a primary and vent, Engine 5 arrived at the same time and laid in. Engine 5 advanced one line and made entry while Engine 3 stretched a back up line, then assisted with fire attack. Upon arrival of Battalion 3 flames vented from one corner of the home. After an aggressive attack, the fire was knocked within the first few minutes of the incident. All searches proved negative and companies remained on scene overhauling for about an hour.
