06/25 & 06/26 ~ It was a steady night in Denver with several small fires in the city. The first happened the early evening in the 4800 block of East Kentucky Avenue. Engine 5 arrived to find smoke showing from the garage of a 3 story multi family building. The fire quickly knocked down with no extension. After a few hours of quiet radios, District 7 caught the rest of the nights action. A group was sent to the 1100 block of South Zuni for a reported structure fire, first due 23's a pair found light smoke showing from a two story multi family which turned out to be burnt food. The next fire was dispatched as reported out in the 1400 block of South Osage Street. Again, Engine 23 was first due and found a one story single family dwelling with smoke in the air. The crew from 23 found a small kitchen fire that had been extinguished by the homeowners prior to arrival, the Engine & Tower ventilated and picked up. Around midnight multiple callers reported a structure fire in the area of Knox Court and Gill Place. Again 23's and Chief 7 arrived first due and found several dumpsters, a fence line and garage on fire. Several companies worked for 15-20 minutes to put out several dumpsters in the area. Although we were unable to cover them, the DFD worked 3 fires on the 26th. A commerical building at 3800 Walnut and 2 house fires on West Tufts and South Osceola.
