Sicily Court 2nd Alarm

Sicily1.JPG

06/23 ~ Around 1400 hours Aurora & Cunningham Firefighters were alerted to the area of Arapahoe Road and Gartrell for reports of a structure fire.  First due Engine 13 arrived southwest of there at Easter Avenue and Sicily Court to find a working fire.  Heavy fire was visible from the charlie side deck of a 2 story with walkout, single family home.  The crew from 13 was quickly joined by Truck 14, both companies began an offensive attack.  The advanced fire conditions prompted the order of additional engines.  After nearly a half hour of firefighting operations a withdraw was ordered and defensive operations started due to concerns with structural integrity.  A second water supply was established, two handlines and two master streams were placed into operation.  The fire was declared under control in just over an hour.  No injuries were reported and no exposures were damaged.  A full galery of photos can be found at this link.
