02/01 ~ Around 23:30 Englewood & Sheridan Firefighters were dispatched to a reported fire with explosions at 1775 West Wesley Avenue. First due Squad 22 arrived at All Recyling to find a structure, large conveyor and debris piles well involved with fire. Explosions were heard on arrival and continued for 15 mintues into the incident. The small explosions were caused by vehicle airbags and acetylene tanks. Squad 22 & Engine 52 laid nearly 1,000 feet of supply line to the north side of the complex and advanced hand lines. Squrt 23 completed a second water supply and laid in to the west side of the fire; then placed their aerial and one hand line into operation. After about 20 minutes of defensive operations the fire was placed under control, extensive overhual took place for a couple hours. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
