06/25 ~ In the early afternoon West Metro Firefighters were called to 185 South Zang Way for a confirmed structure fire.  Due to hot weather conditions District Chief 2 requested an extra Engine & Tower emergent and Rehab Trailer from Fairmount Fire.  First due Engine 4 arrived to find an occupied, three story multiple dwelling with nothing showing from the alpha side.  Upon further investigation smoke was visible from the roof and 3rd floor.  District Chief 2 assumed the command, a supply line was laid and several lines were stretched.  Multiple companies conducted searches for the fire and discovered increasing smoke conditions on the 3rd floor, prompting command to order two additonal medic units.  Crews found smoldering fire conditions in a bathroom which had extended into the attic space.  Extensive overhaul and ventilation work was conducted and fire extension was found to be minimal.  No injuries were reported and the fire in under investigaton.  A full gallery of photos can be found here.  Rick Luebke Photos.
